Welcome to International Cambridge Training Center,
located in Ciudad Guzman, Jalisco, Mexico.
Since its beginning, ICTC has stood out among other institutions due to the quality instruction, education and professionalism found throughout its various programs. Described briefly below, it is obvious that all of its programs clearly follow the mission, philosophy, and values set out for the company as a whole.
With its E.F.L. classes, ICTC is not only able to provide quality English language instruction for over 250 students, in-turn opening the many doors that are closed to mono-lingual people, but it has also been able to spark a true interest in language learning and understanding it in its E.F.L. students. This, by using a communicative and personal curriculum, taught by professional teachers, all with at least a Bachelor’s Degree and T.E.F.L. certificate, and most of whom are native speakers, thus enriching their classes with their unique personal experiences.
Through the Pre-service T.E.F.L. program, ICTC has been able to provide additional training to more than four generations of local English teachers. This training has not only helped those individual teachers to improve their professional, and therefore, personal situations, but also to raise the quality of English Language instruction, learning -and even acquisition- in the South of Jalisco.
Starting in February of 2008, TEFL Training Mexico, a sister company of I.C.T.C. will start offering internationally recognized, pre-service, TEFL certification courses through it’s partnership with Via Lingua, www.vialingua.com, one of the world’s largest and most well established TEFL certification providers. These courses will be offered to university and post-university students who are seeking a solid foundation in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language and the chance to work and live in different cultures. These courses will be intensive, 130 hour, four week courses, focusing on teaching skills and classroom management, language awareness, and personal skills and qualities. All trainees will complete at least ten hours of observed teaching practice in order to receive certification. www.tefl-trainingmexico.com
All of ICTC’s programs have also been very involved in community development. The Spanish Language program in particular has been a pioneer in promoting the region internationally through its partnerships with Grant MacEwan College and the University of Calgary, both in Alberta, Canada. Through these partnerships, ICTC has been able to provide high quality language instruction and cultural immersion that create respect and a vested interest in the peoples and communities of the region, philosophy and values.
